Treehouse - Ifan Dafydd - Treehouse (2012, Push and Run)
Yeah yeah, I get it, everyone thinks he sounds like James Blake. Indeed, just a few months ago everyone thought he was James Blake under an alias, until it turned out they were two separate people, but that they had been roommates until recently.
I will admit, they do create quite similar music. But to me Ifan Dafydd sounds like what I wish James Blake sounded like. I love that Blake is experimental and all that, but Ifan Dafydd is just consistently making the kind of post-dubsteppy UK bass that everyone originally fell in love with Blake for. You know what’s coming, and that it’s going to be great. Like this track, Dafydd’s second official single Treehouse.
