Flash Addict - Scuba - The Hope / Flash Addict (2012, Hotflush)

Scuba’s third LP Personality is dropping on Hotflush late February, and if this first lead single is anything to go by, it’s going to be at least as good as his highly acclaimed 2010 release Triangulation. But it’s the single’s B-side that really deserves a listen— even though it’s not set to feature on the album, Flash Addict has to be one of the finest tracks Scuba has produced to date. Perhaps it’s a little too upbeat for it to fit in to the rest of Personality, but as Fact Mag put it, “you can’t expect someone to make eyes down dubstep and techno their whole life”. And when you can make euphoric techno this well, why should you?
